2020 / Woodcut on paper / edition of 3 / 19” x 26”
Much like her hand-woven works, Rachel DuVall’s woodcut prints explore texture, repetition of pattern and subtle variations in color within the warp and weft, or in this case, the tooth of the paper and grain of the wood. The prints originated from the gridded sketches for woven pieces and evolved to embody the texture and organic nature of the woven works all on their own.
